Clark’s Village and Lunch

We’re excited to invite all members of the Somerset Miners Welfare Trust to join us for a fun and relaxing day out on Monday, 13th November. This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy a bit of shopping, followed by a delicious lunch, and spend some quality time with friends.

Our journey will begin at 9:00 AM sharp, departing from South Road Car Park. We encourage everyone to arrive a little earlier to ensure we leave on time and to make parking arrangements if needed. Once everyone is settled in, we’ll head to our first stop of the day – Clark’s Village in Street, Somerset.

Clark’s Village is a fantastic retail outlet and a favourite for many. With over 90 stores offering discounted prices on well-known brands, there will be plenty of opportunities to treat yourself or pick up some bargains just in time for the festive season. Whether you’re after clothing, shoes, home goods, or simply want to browse, there’s something for everyone here. Don’t forget to take a moment to enjoy a coffee or light snack at one of the cafés dotted around the village if you fancy a break from the shopping.

After a few hours exploring the village, we’ll regroup and head to our next destination – Whitstone’s Fish & Chip Restaurant in Shepton Mallet, where we have a reservation for a classic, hearty lunch. Whitstone’s is well-known for serving some of the finest fish and chips in the area, offering generous portions and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. If fish isn’t your thing, they also have a variety of other tasty options on their menu, so there’s something to suit everyone’s taste.

We expect to arrive at Whitstone’s around lunchtime, giving you plenty of time to enjoy your meal in good company before we head back. Once lunch is finished, we’ll make our way back to South Road Car Park, arriving in the late afternoon, likely around 4:00 PM, depending on traffic.

It promises to be a lovely day out, and we hope as many of you as possible can join us. Whether you’re coming for the shopping, the food, or simply the chance to socialise, we’re sure this trip will be a highlight!
